Lakshmi Balasubramanya - Violin

Lakshmi learnt violin from Prof. H. V. Krishnamurthy and later from H. K. Venkatram. Though young, she has performed and accompanied numerous artists and has more than 800 performances to her credit all over India and other countries. She was one of the few invited to play for His Holiness the Dalai Lama during the world music conference. She has accompanied on violin several leading artists of Carnatic Music. She is a graded artist of the All India Radio and TV and was one of the youngest artists to be graded. She has to her credit several awards including the Ananya Pratibhe Award, “best violinist” from Ananya cultural Acedamy, Malleshwaram Sangeeta Sabha, Bangalore Gayana Samaja, Nadajyoti Sangeet Sabha, Karnataka Gana Kala Parishat etc.
