BRIEF BIODATA OF NALINI UMASHANKAR

Nalini Umashankar (Vocal and Veena): Daughter of Smt. Madhura Satyaraj, Nalini hails from a family of musicians. She had her training in veena in Madras from Guru Janaki Ramanathan. She accompanied her mother in singing for dance recitals. After moving to USA, she learnt vocal music from Guru Nirmala Ramaswamy. She is presently undergoing training in music with Guru Usha Char and under her able training, direction and support, has started giving vocal recitals. She has participated in the music cassettes and CD projects for the Sri Siva Vishnu Temple in Maryland. She works in the International Monetary Fund in Washington D.C.
